This 5/16"-18 extruded U-nut creates a secure threaded attachment point on sheet metal without requiring access to the back of the mounting panel. Its spring-style U-shaped design clips over the panel edge and aligns the threaded opening with the mounting hole for efficient automotive assembly and repair.
Finished with a phosphate coating, this extruded U-nut fits panel thicknesses from .025" to .150" and features a 27/32" center-of-hole-to-edge measurement. It is designed for compatible GM and Ford automotive fastening applications and replaces GM OEM number 1494258 and Ford OEM number 79831-S.
