This #8-10 Stud Solderless Spade Terminal is made to attach the end of a 16-14 gauge electrical wire and allow it to be easily connected to a #8-10 stud or screw terminal. Without insulation it’s easy to make that bare metal to metal connection, see if you have made a solid crimp, and allows for the terminal to withstand much higher temperatures than insulated terminals.
